Before that it would have been a lot tougher. It is totally possible to replace Diva and you can do it with a reasonable budget too now that options like the Polybrute are available. The only time Diva gets used now is when I want to copy a great Diva patch (and there are a lot of those) on my hardware. But the last year or so I've hardly been able to look at software let alone use it. It is its own thing now with lots of features and great sound. If you need what the Alpha Juno does good news is they're still fairly cheap so you could buy one. You won't have the digital oscillator that's in Diva and there is no replacement for the quirky Alpha Juno oscillator section but you'll have the analogue side covered. Those three synths will replace Diva almost entirely.

But I suggest you go the 37 because it's a more complete experience and that shouldn't be underestimated.Ī Korg MS20 mini is only about $400 USD on Reverb and you'll need that for the Korg bits in Diva. If that's too much money the Subsequent 25 is more or less the same thing for less money. Can build an entire record around just the Sub37. It will get you 75% of what Diva does but it's analogue.Ī used Sub37 from Moog will get you the Moog sound and the filter drive. It also has a multimode filter and a 24db filter. Wait until your budget is three or four times that and then replace Diva with a bunch of hardware.įor poly duties the Polybrute sounds amazing and could conceivably cover some of the Roland stuff because of the adjustable envelope curves (the default curve settings are clearly modeled after the vintage Roland stuff).

Instead of trying to replace Diva on a one thousand euro budget, don't.
